Shadow

A pretty shade of white

As bright as a snowflake

Delicate and a wonderful sight.

The sunlight shown on the rose

And the water droplets glistened,

Like fine little pearls.

Falling upon the window sill,

Was a black shadow,

Cast upon the entire length

Larger than the rose itself.

As pure as it may seem

In its pristine shade of white

The rose had cast a shadow

As dark as the moonless night!
